September 1, 2023 - This is likely one of the best Pagaini’s I have ever consumed and that is saying something … and likely as good as most Lytton Spring Zins from Ridge. A beautiful wine in the glass of deep ruby with an opaque core. Rhubarb, Zin funk, herbs and blue-black fruits on the attack. Coffee climbs in at the mid-palate and accelerates through the finish where black pepper adds a booster. A round, balanced mouthfeel with abundant lift. As I have said before (likely many times), “this cuvée always delivers.” A blend of 90% Zin, 9% Alicante Boushet, and 1% Mouvedre. Some very fine sediment on the last pour. (Still delicious the next day, too.) 14.1% alc. With grilled pork sausages to kick off the Labor Day weekend. 090123. Recommended.

October 6, 2022 - The luminescence of the wine is entrancing. The nose was enthralling with boysenberry, rhubarb, Zin funk, coffee, black pepper, herbs, and a touch of mocha. The palate tracks the nose. The mouthfeel is generous, but not at all flabby. The mid-palate and finish are correct. This cuvée always delivers. While the wine is a great pairing with the porky goodness of the ‘que, much more than a teaspoon of the North Carolina vinegar sauce destroys the wine. A blend of 90% Zin, 9% Alicante Boushet, and 1% Mouvedre. A line of sediment from the neck down the back to the base and a ring around the neck. 14.1% alc. With pork barbeque from BBQ Exchange. 100622. Recommended.

August 13, 2022 - This Pagani is 90% Zin, 9% Alicante Boushet, and 1% Mouvedre. What was a deep purple Pagani is now a deep plum. It still appears youthful. Notes of the usual rhubarb, blackberry, black pepper and coffee. Something herbal, maybe rosemary on the mid-palate. The wine is holding its own and can easily age another five years despite the back label, written in 2013, saying the wine is most enjoyable over the following seven years. Some sediment. 14.1% alc. With grilled (beef) burgers. 08.13.22. Recommended.

July 26, 2020 - Ruby color. Nicely balanced. Cherries, raspberries, plums and blackberries. Threw off lots of sediment. Delicious
    Great QPR

May 31, 2020 - Fantastic. A little on the round side but paired well with a pan-seared filet (steak).
