January 14, 2024 - Nice QPR. Thanks Garagiste! PNP with a jumble of tastes that sorted themselves out as we drank over 2-3 hours. Started with some autumn leaves and black tea. Evolved to Morello cherry and some freshness. .

September 24, 2023 - 4th of 6 bottles, last had this wine about a year prior.
Decanted for 30 mins and tasted on the porch, at the end of a long weekend of stellar wines.
It was shy and backward at first, finally revealing the tart cherry fruit profile, seemed to be darker-fruited this time, with some tobacco and anise.
Tannins are still slightly gritty and present, with nice acidity. Good but not great tonight. Drink through 2025 or so.

October 22, 2022 - Excellent, in a nice place now. This was the first of two bottles purchased 7+ years ago and patience was rewarded. Some tertiary notes are starting to present while the fruit, though not exuberant, still retains some punch. The most recent CT TNs below going back to 2020 tell it well. This is a classic and restrained.

This paired beautifully with a "Beef in Barolo" recipe for which we used Cab as the stew wine!

14.5% abv. I'd have guessed 13.5%. No heat whatsoever.

    August 6, 2022 - 3rd bottle from a 6 pack, last tasted 1.5 yrs ago.
This was delicious, enjoyed with the fellas at a friend's lakehouse.
No formal TN, just sour cherries, a bit of tobacco leaf, streak of anise.
    Drink through 2026.

July 27, 2022 - What a gorgeous wine! Pepper, mint, roses, tar or tobacco, and an endless pepper and cherry aftertaste--exuberant and charming. Joyful. Gentle tannins. It has many years ahead of it, but I can't imagine it being more of a delight than it is right now. (Not decanted, tasted from the Riedel Vinum XL Pinot Noir glass.)

November 27, 2020 - Clear, light garnet with orange brick around the rim. Very pretty and shows clear signs of age, looks very approachable.
Aromas of tar and earth and deep red fruit. No alcohol apparent.
Fantastic blast of juicy fruit, autumn leaves and refreshing acidity. Very light bodied and drinkable, yet full of flavor. Delicious!

    November 1, 2020 - 2nd of 6 bottles, last tasted 1.5 yrs ago.
Really nice Barbaresco, delicious tart red fruit, showing tobacco leaf, mint, tar, and medicinal florality.
The tannins are finely grained yet persistent, the acidity is bright and refreshing, the complexity is evolving as the wine ages.
    Drink now through 2026+.

October 25, 2020 - Drinking very well. Ever so slight tannic edge remains. Deep red berry flavors are full and well layered. Bright red cherry rock candy.
