February 27, 2022 - Probably worth a point more...ebullient mousse, complex nose of bruised apple, toast, vanilla, coconut, backed up with minerally citrus. Persistent fine bead, 30 second finish...lithe on the palate with perfect balance, lovely concentration of flavor.
August 18, 2020 - Similar notes...aging well. Round, crisp, still citrusy...but with intense fruit. Long finish.
June 10, 2017 - Young, crisp, complex with green apple, quince, yellow plum, zesty lime acidity, long finish. Brilliant.
February 8, 2017 - Pale golden yellow. Love the nose on this wine. A little hay but lots of stone, citrus and white fruits on the nose with aged layers. Great liveliness and acidity (7/10). Solid body. Lovely freshness with lemon and lime notes. Great minerality in the long and lingering finish. Easy to drink but tons of aging potential. Drink till 2028.
December 17, 2016 - @BYOB - tasted blind
Evolved beautifully once getting warmer. Concetrated apple juice, vanilla hint.
May 22, 2015 - Last fall, this was one of my top three wines of the holiday champagne trade tastings, out of probably 175 champagnes tasted. Checking up with a bottle today: very light mousse, light clear yellow with lazy bubbles. Nose of minerals, ripe citrus, iris, and vanilla infused French toast. On the palate, round and mouth filling like a spoon of whipped cream with a hint of dolce de leche, medium bodied heading towards rich with a full palate of flavors, excellent concentration and rich finish with a hint of that dolce at the end. No way indicates its low dosage...this is a beauty. I can see the kinship with the Special Club coming with more time, but this is more refined. Drinking well already.
October 26, 2014 - Not nearly as generous or Burgundy-like as the 06, this is high-tension and structured with just a hint of wood. Great length and finesse here, but this is an entirely different animal from the Special Club.
