April 26, 2020 - Started spicy and a bit sharp. Decanted for an hour plus and really softened. The spicy red fruit, minerality and some heat stayed on in softer tones. Nice medium length finish.

    May 8, 2019 - This is excellent.
It needed this bottle time to shed some of its baby junk, and still needs much more time in bottle. I'd say try in 2024. I would love to see this floral fruit fade to allow the baking spices and tar to move forward.
Took 3 hours for a big floral fruity nose to show.
The tars are what make this enjoyable, despite the fact that I've breathed onto these vines at Bradley's estate.(Personal interaction always brings further depth of intimacy) I don't particularly care for Grenache and I detect some new oak here despite what the label says.
A critique would be the yeast used. It renders a similar taste among all big basin's wines, but it still works here.
Tastes like a spicy mulberry, blackberry, black cherry pie. Chocolate and vanilla are peeking through too.

30 hours later from open bottle left on the table, no spray, no refrigeration it was open and fresh. Very floral and spicy. Tar and dense minerals. It's Grenache really showed. The spicey were yummy like an exotic fruitcake.

    August 19, 2017 - Decent but a bit jammy

July 23, 2017 - Due to timing, this got picked after a heat spike so that extra push of ripeness reflects in the wine. For me, I didn't care for that impact in this wine. This bottle showed a light maple quality, some heat on the nose and a candied raspberry. Some will like this, I just found it a little big for my tastes.

May 6, 2017 - Needed at least an hour to start to open up. Reserved at first but started showing its balanced self. Then it was gone
