November 19, 2022 - Pierre Overnoy Tasting (with many bonus bottles) (Restaurant Bak, Amsterdam, NL): Very tertiary aromatics but very fresh and energetic on the palate, spicy, not much terroir typicity left, quite hot and dry on the finish. Going over the hill.

August 5, 2017 - Quite a savoury nose of tar, earth, chestnut, bitter chocolate and tobacco. It gains sweetness with air but remains relatively lean throughout the bottle. The fruit is of the cherry persuasion and there are pleasant cooler herb notes to the wine. Not a patch on the '83 we had recently but more than serviceable for the vintage.

February 6, 2016 - Neb Knights Barolo Dinner (L'Apicio, NYC): [Double decanted around 2pm.] Flowers and red berries in the nose. Lush, silky, tart red fruit. A gorgeous wine.
