August 21, 2023 - Flawless California Syrah. No sediment and going strong on night 2. Got another I’m in no hurry to drink

August 11, 2023 - BrianoftheVine's note is on point. There's no hurry on this although it is excellent now. Blackberry and black cherry hit first, with a significant finish of forest floor. Alcohol, tannins, and acid are all in balance with the fruit. A bold, heavyweight presentation of Syrah.

June 20, 2023 - Still a big wine after 11 years. Ripe black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry fruit up front. Savory notes of cracked pepper, meat, violets, and forest floor. Smooth tannins, long finish...good now but no rush.

February 4, 2023 - Truly spectacular. 3 couples shared this, a 2014 Saxum Broken Stones, and a 2016 Barolo with a meal of Wagyu New York steaks and roasted root vegetables.

This was wine of the night by a couple of touchdowns. Truly gorgeous, well-integrated. Hefty without being a monster. Great from first sniff to last drop. Dark fruit, hint of wood smoke, beef blood.

Didn't work as well with the chocolate brownie as I had hoped (too astringent) but no complaints!!!

Definitely wouldn't wait much longer to drink what you have left.

November 19, 2022 - See notes from 11/21, add one year of age, same MO.
    Side note…16% ABV is ridiculous.
    Drink now thru 2025-7

October 27, 2022 - Opened with my wife and drank a glass apiece, vacuum sealed and put the bottle back in my wine cabinet. I opened it 5 days later and finished the bottle. At the initial tasting the wine exhibited excellent balance, rich flavor, with balancing acidity and tannins. When I opened the bottle again the wine was in even better form. It was a prime example of an excellent California Syrah.

August 31, 2022 - Deep purple and fully extracted Expressive notes of dark fruit, meat, savory forest floor. Body was full bodied with softer tannins and a good acid balance Alcohol came through just a bit ( not much considering 16%) or I would have scored higher. Great finish. I preferred to Booker Fracture of the same year but was the minority—mainly I thought the fruit was more expressive.
