May 8, 2020 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of another week of SIP due to COVID-19. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with expired drink by dates. The wine presents with an elegant nose full of dark skin fruit aromas. On the palate, this is a complex wine with multiple taste components, the mos prominent of which is cocoa. firm body. long finish. fine tannin. very enjoyable now but can also benefit for further time in bottle. overall, a remarkable wine. wish i had purchased more.

April 19, 2018 - Lovely aromatics. Cassis, black currants, cherry wood, spices, cocoa, and a whiff of camphor. Open, expressive, and complex in the mouth, with melted tannin, deceptive length, and flavors that stay juicy, delineated, and tasty from start to finish. Well made, especially in a trying vintage.

January 1, 2018 - Improved about 2 hrs into PnP -- quite drinkable still on day 3. Probably not getting much better... '11 is what it is.

May 12, 2017 - Lovely cocoa and cassis on the nose, then medium bodied and juicy in the mouth with very refined tannins. More yummy and elegant than powerful.

September 30, 2015 - Pretty consistent with prior notes. Did run this through a Vinturi, and caught a decent bit of sediment. But didn't let it breathe much, which was an error. This needs a solid 60+ minutes to open up. Also noted more the the "green" flavors on the palate and finish this time around.
