December 24, 2023 - What an unbelievable wine, hints of cherry, plumb, and tobacco. Look forward to having again someday.
July 5, 2022 - still young
April 15, 2022 - Looks very pretty with a sweet and inviting nose. Initially it was a bit brash and peppery, but some airtime brought out lush red fruit with some rich oak. This wine is cocktail strength but would be friendly to rich food.
March 16, 2022 - very nice and ready to go without much air
February 24, 2022 - This was okay. A little faded and the alcohol was poking out a little more than I like.
January 23, 2022 - Honestly the alcohol is just way too intrusive. At 16.3 abv what would you really expect though?
February 10, 2021 - Just OK for me. We were expecting a bit more depth and freshness. More stewed dark fruit which seemed to fade behind the alcohol on night one. Night two mellowed but never really hit its stride.
July 5, 2020 - Opened for 40 minutes. Beautiful ruby color with clarity suggesting some racking or fining. Expressive nose of forest floor and dark fruit with undertones of licorice and spice. Body is dark fruit with medium acids and resolved tannins. Great finish. Drinking well now and early in its mature phase.
February 2, 2020 - Decant for 45 mins. Seems to do the trick. Wine was solid for 2 hour drinking window. Nose of red fruit and muted wood.
March 30, 2019 - Peppery, brisk and powerful. Nothing elegant about this in your face bruiser!
