February 26, 2023 - Blind Tasting - Port Tawny 10 YO or plus (Flat Bush, Auckland): a lot sediments, dark red/purple, dry dark fruits, prune, jujube, hawthorn. warm alcohol, moderate tannins, full body, very mature and much stewed sweet flavours. some black tea and astringent in finish.

    RP 93, WS 95, WE 93, Decanter 90

I voted #5 to this as it lost balance and fall into very deep density. #5 by the group.

    Ap 5/5, Ar 11/15, Palate 17/20, Overall 3+4/10
    Total 90/100

April 4, 2021 - Inky purple colour, fresh nose of cooked stone black fruits with plum, prune and damson plus some raisins. The palate is rich and sweet, as you’d want to taste, but there’s freshness too. Still primary with plenty of grip but utterly delicious and looking forward to eating with a fudge chocolate Easter cake.

December 4, 2019 - Not quite sure why I opened this on a Wednesday night but I am glad I did. Out of a half bottle so maturing more quickly.
Red purple colour, fading at the rim. Lots of sediment. Probably should have decanted.
Nose is all spicy herbal notes, fresh with dark fruit.
Pure sweet fruit on the palate, still primary but tannins now relaxed. Most of all though, it has a very drinkable quality that’s hard to put a finger on. With a piece of aged manchego, it almost seems like a dry wine.
    Very nice.

September 5, 2018 - Tasted at Quinta da Roeda. Nice effort, still showing youth. Slight astringent, very tannic and closed. Not as deep or complex as I would prefer. Decent mouthfeel, but lacking total flavors and layers. Should improve over time?

March 30, 2018 - Port tasting (tawnies and rubys); 3/27/2018-4/3/2018 (Todd's): Purple in color. A very tight nose. After some time it shows some milk chocolate and black raspberries. On the palate, this is more open. Black raspberries, chocolate and slight raisins. There is some heat on the wine thru the finish. I think air or cellar time is certainly needed at this point. Some upside.
