February 22, 2023 - Double blind tasting
Medium ruby with moderate clearing at rim
Medium plus aromas of red/ blue berries and plum with dark florals and asphalt - used oak notes
Medium bodied with palate of red and blue fruit
High tannins - quite fine grained with medium plus acidity and medium alcohol
Great length led by fruit and tannins
Quite a dark and somewhat brooding Barolo - quite enjoyable however
I would recommend holding at least 3-5 yrs - this is still fresh on the nose and tannins remain high -

February 19, 2023 - Medium garnet with rim clearing
Aromatics medium +. Red to black rose. Black cherry and plum. Later some tar. No new oak
Palate has a medium body. Tannins high but fine grained. Alcohol medium +. Acid medium. Later ripe plums
Finish has a medium + length. Balanced
Dry glass notes of earth and tar
Overall a nice aged Barolo, more on the masculine side given structure
Drink now or can continue to age but fruit will not last much longer in my opinion. -

October 24, 2021 - Rome, Florence, Bologna - Delayed 60th birthday trip; 10/19/2021-11/1/2021 (Rome, Florence, Bologna): From the wine list at Roscioli Salumeria (Rome). Paired with Salumi, Buratta with white truffles and Bucatini Amatriciana. Not decanted per the recommendation of the sommelier. Earthy and red fruited, with some of the rose petal notes coming though. Open and enjoyable now.

January 23, 2021 - A dense core of black licorice, blood and iron with some exotic tea notes that linger on the finish, all wrapped in a tightly woven cherry flavoured acidity
Should be left to age much longer but beautiful now
