July 9, 2022 - Prior bottle was (interestingly enough), again, exactly 20 months ago and this wine has continued to evolve positively. White apple, peach and floral notes on the nose, but perhaps, not quite as floral as my prior bottle. Medium bodied with white apple upfront, leading to white peach through the middle. Mid-body showed more depth and roundness than my prior bottle and the wine overall is quite white orchard dominant in fruit profile, with only some light tropical highlights through the middle. The acidity in this bottle was in even better shape than previously, which improved the contrast and gave the wine more energy. Really impressed with how this wine is showing and believe it should be able to maintain this level for at least another couple of years.

November 20, 2020 - Tasted at the winery. Previously tried from bottle a bit over 20 months ago and this wine has continued to evolve positively over that time. Lots of floral notes on the nose along with peach and other white orchard fruits. Medium bodied and much more open and accessible than I recalled from my last bottle, showing the same mix of soft white apple and slightly brighter, more tart pear upfront. Adds white peach notes through the middle with tropical notes on the background. No honey notes this time and the wine seemed more white orchard dominant and less tropical. Lightly tart notes and acidity provide structure on the backside and overall, the wine shows very good balance and integration. This wine has held together quite well and is still drinking at a high level. Based on these impressions, should be able to hold this level for at least another couple of years, but I'd drink these over that period to enjoy this wine in its current window.

March 10, 2019 - Prior bottle was a bit over 18 months ago and this wine continues to evolve positively. Peach, orchard fruits, passion fruit and a honey quality on the nose. Medium bodied and actually needed almost two hours open to fully reveal itself. When initially opened, there were honey notes on the nose and upfront that concealed some of the more nuanced fruit notes, but by two hours in, had come into very good balance. Showed orchard fruit upfront (soft apple and brighter pear), moving to distinctly tropical notes through the middle (passion fruit, peach) and then brings in some nicely contrasting notes towards the back (lightly tart citrus) and some acidity. At first, it felt like this wine was a bit softer the more fruit driven than it should've been. But with the additional time open, the fruit and structural qualities came into a bit more balance. I would drink these over the next 2-3 years as it will endure beyond even that point, it won't retain the current level of complexity or balance.

August 24, 2017 - Last tasted 19 months ago (November 2015) at the winery; this was my first from bottle and my notes were actually very close to identical. Mixed orchard fruit and floral qualities on the nose. Medium bodied with apple and pear upfront, along with some hints of peach. Develops more body through the middle as it shows off a more tropical focus before finishing with very good acidity, tart citrus tension, light spices and good mineral notes. Overall, the components were nearly identical to my prior notes with perhaps slightly more integration and a touch more balanced. Clearly has a number of years ahead of it and should show continued slow improvement. Very impressive example of the style.

November 21, 2015 - Tasted at the winery. Orchard fruit on the nose, which overall was slightly less pronounced than the Magdalena or the Dry Reserve Riesling. Apple and pear upfront, along with varied other orchard fruit notes in the background. More tropical fruit qualities become evident towards the finish along with spices, mineral notes and excellent acidity. Exceptional blend of fruit through the middle, that when coupled with the acidity, really sang. This wine felt like an acidity driven spatlese, rather than a troken style. Based on where the fruit and acidity are currently, I suspect this wine will improve over the next few years.
