April 13, 2019 - Wine Tasting Group - No Theme - Apr. 13, 2019 (Classic Dallas): A bonus leftover wine from Brian, opened earlier that day. Not decanted off of sediment. Dense mouthfeel with grittiness from sediment. Intense ripe figs, earth, some hints of herbs. The alcohol juts out a bit as well. Still very primary with little evolution, which is a bit surprising. Would have been interesting to taste without the sediment and a long decant.

March 16, 2019 - Thick, dark. Smoky, vanilla and cloves. Love it.

December 23, 2018 - I am marking this bottle down as it did not provide the experience experience as previous bottles. Last tasted in 2015, this bottle seemed closed. Could be moving into a different stage of development. Could have been an off bottle. Other recent tasting notes have scored this Port as high as I have in the past so who knows? Will let it mature for a few more years to see what happens. In the meantime the 85 Grahams is drinking very well so I will go back to that for the time being.

December 23, 2018 - I bought this bottle in 1996, from OddBins (now defunct) intending to drink it at Christmas when I was 60. Not disappointed in any way.

Colour is deep, almost black, fading to pink (not brown) at the rim. Nose fruity, almost blackberry. Taste peppery, almost cherry. Unctuous. This has years of life left.

(Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port) A beautiful, desne colour. Dark, yet floral aromas. Big, sweet, intense and very impressive palate. Firmly tannic, creamy, plenty of structure with correct acidity. Needs 10 years as a minimum. Great potential.
