December 2, 2020 - Two out of five people rated this their WOTN against 1997 Rayas, 1989 Petrus (authenticity questioned), 1986 d'Yquem, and others. I preferred the Rayas, which had better development of secondary flavors. I've had the 1999 La Turque several times, and it's better, but I think both would improve if additional time delivered more depth and complexity in secondary flavors.

September 20, 2020 - Fargen er dyp "cloudy" rød med oransje kant. Deilig moden aroma med preg av blyant, lakris, støvete kjeller, sur-søt frukt, blåbær og ett snev av mørk sjokolade. I munn oppleves den som moden og med integrerte tanniner, er mer syrefrisk. Samme elementer på smak som aroma. Over tiden det tok å konsumere flasken kom den stadig med nye elementer. Lang ettersmak. Ser andre mener denne ikke er moden enda, men min flaske(kjøpt på auksjon) oppleves som moden, men holdbar i mange år enda. 94+ p.

April 2, 2020 - opened 4 hours ahead - in blind tasting everybody still thought substantially younger. I actually really enjoy this wine more with every bottle. Like listening to a story, so many elements.

April 2, 2020 - Tasted blind. It felt like a very young wine. Chocolaty nose, rich, ripe. Acidity is there in spades. The palate is quite demanding but with food this worked.

October 11, 2019 - Dark savory notes, blood, and some oak on the still very young nose. Dark fruit, spices, tobacco, wood, and more savory flavors on the palate. Long finish. My first experience with this and although the modern approach and oak were apparent, the wine was beautiful and interesting!
