March 17, 2021 - Ruby with burnt orange. Discreet nose of lavender, rose, tar and a touch of smoke. Classic Nebbiolo profile showing moderate complexity and charm. Medium-bodied palate with nicely resolved tannins and good freshness. Feels like it is just starting to develop some tertiary character - the next couple of years will tell.

December 24, 2020 - A little disappointed, an example of those Barolos that mature earlier, but does not have the elegance of some lighter ones, nor the depth of the sturdy ones. But what it does have is heap of acidity. It looks some like it like that, I don't; a very much food wine. There is some morello cherry, and red fruit, I believe it is actually not that light bodied wine, it has some decent material but very much overwhelmed by acidity. I tried to pace my decanting but couldn't find a ‘winning combination’. I wanted to like it, especially with all these recent price increases for decent Barolos, alas...

June 30, 2019 - Incredible QPR, here. Just passing from light ruby to light tawny. Classically perfumed nose. Roses, raspberry sauce, and a bit of smoke/leather just starting to appear. Very elegant, well-balanced wine in a great drinking place right now. Served with cheese and charcuterie. Sure, it's on the lighter side but just killing it. First barolo to which I've been able to give a 95.

January 6, 2018 - This is definitely on the lighter, more elegant side of Barolo. I found it to have beautiful structure and elegance. Not super fruit driven at the moment but beautifully framed high acid. I can see this not delivering the beans without food at the moment. Having said that the acid right now creates a perfect opening for rich dishes. We loved this wine last night with some Tajarin al ragu at Cascina Spinasse. The acid cuts the richness and vice versa exposing a beautiful core of tart red fruits in this wine. Try now with a decant and the right food if you have a couple bottles or wait 2-3 years.
