December 31, 2023 - 2 points up from last time. Maybe just a recalibration of expectation. Taste of old wood, but kind of interesting and not deteriorated, just not that generous.

June 20, 2023 - I had a difficult time with this on night one. The structure and lack of fruit and aggressive finish was not to my liking. however on night two it developed complexities and became an intriguing wine. definitely needs to be decanted for several hours. in no way fruity or Chianti like for a fruit forward styled wine.

April 22, 2023 - Not as good as other Vintage years of this wine. Don't know how to put into words though. Maybe 2nd day will be better. Didn't try to decant it even though it is 13 years old when opening. I would open it now and not hold anymore if you still have it, not much of a collection piece either. Just drink with salami, cheese, and a nice charcuterie board. We visited this castle/winery in 2009 so I wanted to get something close to that year. For some reason, everything tasted better in Italy..

March 10, 2023 - Mahogany colour. Not especially deep. Sappy one-dimensional nose. Light palate--somewhere between lean and lithe. Pleasant tannic presence at end. Relatively complete, fully mature and not quite as interesting as hoped.

May 2, 2022 - This needed some air to open up, but tastes a bit like it is on the decline. Somewhat coarse and disjointed.
