May 20, 2019 - As is typical of Greer, this is classic Cabernet Sauvignon: dark cassis, crushed violets and anise, iron, and meat. It has a nice cedary-fragrance and moderately rich mouthfeel, but has an austere edge that runs through it and is a bit off-putting. Give it more time to see if it softens and opens up.

February 24, 2019 - Inky purple with heavy sediment. Bright cherry and cassis notes. Some licorice on the finish. Fairly demure after opening- this got better with time. Not my favorite Greer- but one of the better 2011 California Cabs we’ve had thus far.

November 27, 2018 - Seemed to be in a dumb phase right now - not a lot of aromatics or much showing in the glass. Had a 2012 that was open and singing, but this sadly, was not open for business.

March 31, 2018 - Drank alongside the 2011 Pott Arsenal. The Pott Arsenal was more open and plush right now, and was probably the favorite tonight. That said, the Greer seemed to need more air (or age) and had more in reserve. The Greer may turn out to be the better wine in 5 years, though both were great.

March 16, 2018 - I echo what LUCASLABELLE wrote about this being a weaker vintage, though, up to now, my only other experience with Greer has been the 2009 to which I gave a 96.
That said, this was still very enjoyable. It's a tad light but has nice bright juicy fruit. Not a knockout, but still a credible contender.
I suggest an hour of aeration or one pass through a Vinturi upon opening.
