March 3, 2019 - Super wine - still dark ruby red, with a wonderful cedar nose that is very left bankish, but could be pauillac or st julien. But on the palate this is elegance personified, firmly back in Margaux territory. Nit-picking it could have more weight and persistence, but in some way that is part of its charm. Great !

January 11, 2019 - Drinking very well after a 3 hour decant. Surprised by how feminine and delicate this Palmer was. Lightly perfumey with some white flowers on the nose, mixed with the earthy, tobacco, green pepper and dark fruit notes expected. Tannins silky and smooth, very long finish, an incredibly well-made wine drinking super well. Not the favourite of the night against an '89 and '98 Calon Segur (the '89 was), but this is absolutely great. Should continue to improve over the next 10 years. Price value...well, let's not go there...

January 4, 2019 - Drank at Loy Stuben in Bad Kleinkirchheim. Note from Memory.

This was starting to develop some very pretty tertiary aspects but still needs another 5 years in my mind....only just entering its drinking window. Pure fruit, pretty flowers and a very long finish. Great wine.

September 1, 2018 - Toastbrot, frische Champignons, und natürlich Frucht. Unbedingt 3 Stunden atmen lassen, davor hat er reichlich „krumme“ Aromen.

July 28, 2018 - Really enjoyed this wine and how it developed over time. We opened two bottles and let them stand for about 2 hours before drinking. Tasted both initially and they were already rocking, but just got better and better with time. Lots of fruit remaining, however, very well integrated. Beautiful flavors of oak, dark red fruits, graphite and cigar box. Very long finish (seemed like more than a minute). Lots of time left with this wine and I think it will only continue to improve! 93+

(Chateau Palmer Margaux) This is 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Ripe and plump on the nose, with some nutty oak, and some stylish, slightly exotic fruit notes. Similarly full, ripe and plump on the palate. Underneath there is a grippy structure with a tannic finish. But this can't distract from the ripe berry fruits and evident finesse, even at this youthful stage. I think this will develop a lovely integration, but needs 7-8 years at least.
