February 8, 2024 - A bright gleaming yellow colour leads to a nose of lanolin, lemon and hallmark emerging honey. A slight spritz remains but blows off with time in the glass. The palate is quite creamy and fuller displaying the warmer vintage of 2014.The typical Belford honey notes of the Elliott era Belfords is well to the fore. The wine is well within its drinking window but will certainly hold for at least another five years. A very pleasing wine to accompany many dishes. Tonight it will be with freshly caught gurnard and whiting.

January 29, 2022 - Day 5 in the fridge, previous evenings hadn't been motivated enough to write a TN however we're at the bottom of the bottle and this has click into gear: pure white nectarine, just a hint of Hunter Semillon toast, medium-bodied and slightly chewy, a filigreed lime acid spine drawing through the palate. Lovely.

December 19, 2020 - Hunter Whistlestop 2020 #3 (Hunter Valley): Mineral, a little toast and honey with a tiny touch of kerosene, slight green apple, lime over lemon pith, very slight butter as well. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity, buttery, toast, with green apple, honey, a little texture, rich, long, lovely.

September 14, 2020 - Wow. This has improved. Now showing old school classic hunter valley semillon with sunlight soap and lemon citrus. Lime juice, hay, soap and lemons. Extra length to the finish. So Doug Elliot. This is fabulous. I’m getting a dozen tonight. Long life ahead under Stelvin.

December 6, 2019 - I love these wines when they are a little fuller mid palate than this wine at present, as they take me back to the richer Doug Elliot Belford of the 70’s. Pale straw in colour., and wet straw and lime juice on the nose but it is so undeveloped. More grassy on the palate with some lime zest and lemons on the finish. In an awkward phase right now. The vineyard and the vintage will shine, it just needs more time. If you have it leave it and try again in 2023 as looks like a slow developer.
