August 30, 2019 - 70’s Bordeaux Blind Tasting: 1st bottle on 1st flight - Nose of preserved prunes, preserved plums, musky, some dried flowers, chrysanthemum. Tasted dried plums, preserved prunes, herbs, soil, pickles, with blood iron and dates tertiaries. Nice long spiced finish. Tinge of ammonia kicked in after some time, which was slightly disturbing. Best bottle for the 1st flight (alongside Montrose 1973 and Pontet Canet 1978).

February 9, 2019 - The wine looks onion-skin colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor, petrol, sherry, diesel and tar.

January 11, 2011 - Light orange rim, clean and clear. Showing sensationally well: On the nose medicinal notes, tea, iodine, some farmyard. Lovely entry to the palate, fresh, iodine, even fruit, round and mouthfilling. A gorgeous sweetness, tea, balanced acidity, tobacco, liquorice. Very surprising, lovely length. Keeping in astonishing form all evening. It was drunk at a small privat tasting and everyone was delighted. Wouldn't have believed it otherwise. What style! Forget modern winemaking... From an excellent cellar. 12,5% alc.

July 6, 1985 - Deep dark with a brown edge. Mature bouquet with cassis, lead pencil, leather and oak. Full bodied with good acidity and soft as well as sticky tannin. Long, complex and sticky aftertaste. Harmonious wine which is certainly considering the vintage extremely well made.
