May 7, 2023 - Vinetasters: Mt. Veeder (Park Ridge, IL): Served double blind. Seems to show a fair bit of age, but this is obviously Napa cabernet. A slight bit of pyrazine on the nose here, and more unpleasantly, vanilla from oak. This comes across with more berry notes (blueberry) than stone fruit. The oak leaves too much astringency on the back end. Slightly pruney as well. My 3rd, group's 3rd.
January 12, 2022 - Very good! Drinking very well, nice fruit, mouthfeel and finish. Holding up very strong.
August 28, 2021 - Great wine. 2011 was problematical, but as they aged they came out of their shells. Lovely, great acidity.
July 2, 2021 - Solid QPR at our $45 price point. Noticeable fruit, pleasant mouthfeel, and a fresh flavor.
June 2, 2021 - Bought four bottles via Last Bottle - surprisingly good. Drink now.
May 24, 2021 - A quality cuvee produced from a challenging harvest, this wine appears to buck the overall trend for this vintage. From the aromatics to the deep, rich mouthfeel with flavors of dark fruits, baking spice, coffee and sage to the elegant, lingering finish, the wine exhibits an approachable nature with significant complexity. PNP and consumed over two plus hours. Ready to be enjoyed!
February 25, 2021 - 2011 was a trying year. Yet these folks have made a great, lush wine that’s fruit forward yet nuance. Lots of oak and will age another 5-10 years with no problems.
August 14, 2020 - $47.50 wine slash
