September 21, 2018 - Same as last review. The wine opens to a nose of dark fruit. The palate is dark berries and Asian spices. A smooth finish of moderate length.
September 8, 2018 - Blackberry and boysenberry on the nose and palate with earth and spice notes still wrapped in a firm structure that opens up after a couple of hours of air.
May 8, 2018 - A nice full bodied syrah with dark fruit and spices. A moderate to long finish Overall enjoyable.
September 11, 2017 - Very nice and could use 5 more years - I opened it anyways based on the cool vintage/maybe one to open early? Anyways, here we are. Very large-scaled wine, as is typical (my perspective) for Pax, but balanced, clear varietal signature, and perfectly dry/super-savory. I'm getting blood orange, iron, graphite, rare beef, black pepper... as it opens, a bit of lavender as well. This is lovely - if you're going to drink this young give it air and expect a bruiser.
March 11, 2017 - Rich and bright. Light tannins after a couple hour decant.
November 5, 2015 - A little thin bodied and peppery around good red fruit. Likely suffered from a PnP tasting - needed time to open up.
