February 13, 2017 - I think I enjoy these younger, when they are a bit fleshier and rounder. Today it tasted a bit thin and acidic. Perhaps just too cold (always need to remind myself not to serve EK out of fridge) or a bit closed at present?
March 13, 2016 - Same notes as 01/25/2016. "It was fine," is the only phrase that comes to mind. Buttered popcorn and lemon curd; two flavors I like in a chardonnay if there is something else to elevate it. Not here.
Last bottle for me. Won't miss it. Drink now.
January 25, 2016 - A decent Chardonnay, but nothing that evokes any sort of emotional or memorable response. Notes of pear, vanilla, and lemon curd. Not very complex by any stretch, but an ok Monday night sipper.
Paired fine with halibut tacos.
Drink now, as the fruit seems to be fading since the last time I had this wine a year ago.
January 14, 2016 - This is a very enjoyable Sonoma Coast Chard from Eric Kent. The nose comes across a bit buttery and spicy but not overly so. The palate is balanced, soft and creamy with notes of creme brulee, lemon pith, a touch of butterscotch, medium acidity and a medium finish.
November 10, 2015 - The first Chardonnay I ever really loved was an Eric Kent Sonoma Coast Chard and this one reminded me of why I found the first so stunning. Lovely balance between Meyer Lemon, Golden Delicious Apple, and nutmeg in the palate. I found the aromas a bit shy at first, but they develop in the glass, emerging crisp, apple-y, and bright. Very nicely made. Perhaps this will continue to develop until 2020, but it is drinking superbly now.
September 4, 2015 - Pale golden yellow. On the nose mineralls, lychee, oak. On the palate the style is a hybrid. There is ample oak, but it is cut by minerals and acid. Not you over the top buttery Oakton California chard, but tempered in a more burgundian way. I am a fan.
November 1, 2014 - Spectacular. Really liked it.
