September 3, 2022 - Still fresh fruit nose and typical blackberry/briar fruit. Woody note on aftertaste detracts from an otherwise enjoyable wine.

May 4, 2022 - I was surprised that after 9 years, this wine still has plenty of room to continue to evolve. Ruby colored, medium body with cherry overtones, tobacco, hint of oak and plentiful tannins, it was a perfect pairing with a tender serving of pork chops. Definitely a wine worth drinking at an affordable price.

December 18, 2021 - User opinion is that I should have drank this wine four years ago! Guess what? It is still very much intact and going strong. If you still have this, do NOT feel rushed to drink it. A couple more years to the good for certain.

March 3, 2021 - The fruit was just too confected, a one dimensional wine. Just not too exciting.

February 26, 2021 - No doubt that prisoners are best left untouched for a bit...opened a 2013 in 2021 and was fabulous. Definitely filter it as if has plenty of funk. But by far better than any young prisoner to date

December 27, 2020 - Great nose. Still flavorful, but it had lost some of it’s punch and fruit....... I know, we should have drank it last year (2019). Mellow, smooth, and a long finish.

June 8, 2020 - The nose is full of new oak- vanilla candle, frosting, very modern. Jammy and spicy up front, quite extracted. Sweet, low in acid. The idea that this is a $40 wine is ridiculous.
