December 31, 2023 - Fruit coming out very nicely, notably perfumed on the nose. Dark stone fruit, black cherry, black current, with hint of vanilla, maple, blueberry, medium-full bodied. The oak doesn’t overpower. Overall, the fruit coming out very effectively on this and offer enough complexity. Doesn’t need to sit much longer if at all. That said, could sit two to four more years.

October 28, 2021 - I was told it was even better on day two but I wasn't present, sadly. But even directly after pulling the cork it was delicious. This is a wonderful synthesis of dark fruit, powerful tannin, tamed by a fresh acidity and a very deep and satisfying finish. Needed some time to unfurl its beauty. Side by side with an Astrales 2013 the seemed head to head after opening the bottles but it became clear that Aalto has much more potential for ageing. Great wine.
