April 3, 2024 - Hoping this was just a bad bottle as I have a couple more

July 4, 2022 - Sultry evening on Cape Hatteras.
PnP, brief sample, then start tasting with dinner.
Aromas of cherries, dried cherries, eucalyptus and some vanilla. Vanilla became more noticeable as the meal went on.
On the palate this has cherry, a rush of warmth, fine grippy tannin.
Drinking with spaghetti with a duck and portobello red sauce with porcinis, poached garlic and shredded basil added at the end.
This is good, but may be showing signs of age.
Balanced by the red sauce and the Parmesan.
Tannin started to fade 30 minutes into dinner giving this more of a resemblance to an American Pinot Noir.
I think age has finally caught up.
This bottle was good on opening, and then fell apart…

February 18, 2021 - I like this wine for its interesting flavors. It is a lighter style wine and a bit on the austere style. It yet quite flavorful. At age 9, it is holding up well with good truthful color but quite light at least by sight. On the palate it is a bit acidic with balanced tannins and a spicy and earthy nose and taste. Good wine with mean of braised meat and a good winter wine with hearty dishes. Should work well balancing protein and fat.
