March 7, 2024 - Absolutely brilliant, perfect to drink now!! Others who wrote that it is on the verge of being over the hill, i disagree. AMAZING fruit, blueberries, blackberries, plums and blackcurrant. Sechuan pepper, bell pepper and middle eastern spice.
    Drink or hold.

April 27, 2022 - Had with 2009 Virginie de Valandraud with Tim and Katie, 2010 Penfolds 389, and so, initially we thought this was a one dimensional fruit bomb, although impressive after 10 years. After some air however, tannins still driving strong, began to open up into a nice wine. The strong fruit and medium tannins speak to the quality of this fruit and good backbone which we agree has many more years left, although unsure if likely to improve.

April 8, 2022 - Poured a glas right after opening the bottle, it felt a bit muted at first, both on the nose and in taste, so I let it breath for 2 hours in the decanter. After that it started to open up a bit.
The nose showed blueberries, ripe blue fruit that really shows the age of the wine, vanilla, some mint is definitely showing in the background as well as star anise.
In the taste it really shows the maturity of the wine, it feels like it's past its prime but definitely puts on a show, round soft tannins, big powerful mouthfeel that reveals its terroir, medium acidity and fairly structured. A good wine overall but it's time to drink up!

February 7, 2022 - A lot of personality Beautiful deep ruby color. Medium tannin and goes very well with pasta and tomato sauce with parmigiano reggiano.

October 12, 2021 - This was my last of 6 and I wish I had waited this long to drink the other as I really think it is now at it’s peak! Velvety, full of currents and plum. We paired it with a fire pit grilled steak and it was magnificent! Merci my friend Rolland L for sharing this great buy with me back in 2015!
