April 1, 2023 - Decanted late in the evening and consumed with Grilled Elk Tenderloin. Delicious and quickly consumed by the 4 of us present. Very Burgundian in nature, but California in fruit. Not sure about the details of the vinification of this but it is delicious. Bright acidity, rose petals, ripe strawberry, tart raspberry, mineral, baking spices and nice length. Every bottle of this I have had has been delicious and some extraordinary.

November 28, 2019 - From 750ml bottle out of a friend’s cellar which was a joint purchase from the winery about 5 years ago. Decanted for 3 hours prior to tasting. Translucent medium ruby with crimson edge and no brick at all. Nose has some creamy vanilla from the oak aging I assume, along with spice box, earthy forest floor and red berries. Palate has a lot of cherry, cranberry and spices along with an oak and vanillin frame that is still bright with acidity and long on the finish. Beautiful with the Turkey and cranberry sauce. Still lots of life left especially from magnum which we both have.

December 24, 2018 - Decanted 2 hours before tasting. Translucent medium ruby. Nose of earth, chocolate, tobacco and ripe cherry as well as a savory grilled meat element. The mouth feel is rich and unctuous yet bright with acidity. Palate has pomegranate, cherry, earthy tobacco, chocolate and grilled meat. The finish is long and elegant. Plenty of life left and you could just smell this for hours. Some bottles are inconsistent, but when this is on it is fantastic! Like this one tonight.

March 4, 2018 - Beautiful red color with very subtle bricking. A nice smell of warmed strawberries jam, rose water, and other red fruits. The mouth feel was rich with a nice finish. Very good acidity and nice finish. The taste consisted of rich red fruits heavily weighted with strawberry and cherry. Drink now. Score 93

March 3, 2018 - A wonderful bottle but not the best version of this I have had. The color is a translucent light to medium ruby with lots of obvious viscosity and no real sign of age. The nose has oak, vanilla, cherry and mushroom. The palate has bright minerality, good acid structure and nice layers of flavor. Notably there is cherry, chocolate, cigar tobacco, and great length on the finish. This has nice richness and chewy texture but just lacks a little something that previous bottles of this have had to take it to the next level.
