December 6, 2018 - PnP. Classic Nebbiolo aromas of brighter cherry, earthier cherry, violet, a bit of menthol, some subtle garrigue aromas. On the palate red fruit, a surge of warmth, some stem, medium body, medium+ to high- acid, medium+ tannin leaving a slightly mouth-drying finish. Continued to be good the next night. Notes not detailed enough to score.

March 11, 2017 - PnP. Color is translucent, ruby red with a bit of orange at the rim. Initial aromas of tart cherry or cranberry, raspberry, flowers, mushroom, tobacco, leather, savory herbs and dirt. On the palate tart fruit, lighter tannin, leaving a mouthwatering finish while noticeably touching the sides of the mouth. The wine seemed a bit closed initially and required swirling to reveal itself. After about 30 minutes some dried fruit aromas, cherry and cranberry, along with some cinnamon and vanilla are emerging. Feels like tannin and a bit heat filling in around 45 minutes as we are eating broccolini pasta with prosciutto, herbs, dried tomatoes and porcini mushroom sauce.

October 16, 2016 - Haven't drank a lot of barolos.....surprised at the lightness of the color
as it went into the decanter.a thin pale red ruby....legs form quickly..
Nose is damp earth, tobacco, cedar, mint/menthol, anise,..complex nose...taste is tobacco cherry oak/wood with drying tannin finish...
Long lasting finish... I really enjoyed it
Update on day 3.....the fruit rose to the forefront with cherry predominate
The wood cedar note lessened...tobacco there and still the drying tannin fruity finish....up 1 pt to 92

September 19, 2016 - Medium ruby robe, nose of tar, tobacco and black cherry initially softens with time in the decanter. With 2 hours in its a nicely melded aroma of maraschino cherry and pipe tobacco. In the mouth tannins are mild and acidity is balanced.
