February 16, 2024 - This is singing now, still young but mellowing nicely. The 97’s have taken their time to come around
May 14, 2023 - Deep garnet
Pronounced nose intensity with smoke, tobacco, char wood, cinnamon, spices, fig, prune, raisin, black currant.
High alcohol 20.5%
Full bodied
High acidity
High tannin
Pronounced flavour intensity
Long finish
Medium sweet
April 9, 2022 - Best on the second night, moderate decline through next few nights
January 29, 2022 - Half bottle of this Vintage Port.
Decanted for 3 hours. Full bodied with some signs of age on the taste. Black fruit, matured, oak. Very nice but I've had better. I shouldnt compare actually since they all are mostly great. Fun to drink a piece of history, allways.
I wouldnt keep it too long in the cellar but it is of course personal preference.
September 26, 2018 - Funk on the nose - meats, spice cologne and flesh. A bit gigolo, tbh. Umami elements. Then nice toned fruit and grilled veg notes. Musk oil. Plums. Lovely finish, albeit you need to appreciate the disharmony.
July 6, 2018 - Deep brick red colour, pale rim
Amazing nose - so aromatic - minty and balsamic notes
Lots of power and tannin, still powerful youthful fruit
But drinking really well, very very long
Superb, one for the long term but hard to resist now
July 22, 2017 - FTLOP 12th Anniversary; 7/21/2017-7/23/2017 (Seattle, Washington): Almost completely opaque. Dark plum in color with lightning on the edges. Blueberries with a touch of menthol on the nose. Tart cranberry on the palate. Lively red fruit on the finish. Good complexity.
March 4, 2017 - In a very good place in it's drinking window now, still plenty of fruit but soft and mellow with some added mature notes
May 13, 2012 - Clearly drinking this before its time, it was tight and tannic; decanted for about four hours before enjoying it with chocolate cake. Intensity of flavor wasn't quite where it should have been, but the structure to develop is still there. Needs many years before revisiting.
Mye rundere uten spritpreg
