    June 6, 2019 - Served with pasta.
    Well paired.
Needed about an hour to open up. Very nice, classic chianti. Everything in the right place. Nice acidity, good fruit. nice earthy notes. Worked very well with food.
    Would buy again.

November 25, 2018 - Consistent with last tasting in 2016. Dark ruby in color, this wine reveals cherry compote, menthol and dust on the nose. The mouth feel is firm and rich with baking spices and plum. The finish is tight but with nice acidity and tannins. 13% abv.

Purchased for $11US/375ml, this is an excellent offering that is just now hitting its prime drinking window. It's very enjoyable.

January 5, 2018 - What a difference two years can make! This has really come together since December 2015, showing vast improvement; the “poster child” for lying down and cellaring wine. Nicely aromatic and flavorful reflecting sour red cherry; tart, spicy red berry; taunt leather; chewy, cedar mulch, and rusty iron. Tannin, fruit, and acidity are fairly welll integrated but additional time will support further improvement. Great, long finish. Perfect accompaniment to ravioli lasagna with beef and pork bolognese sauce. Still needs food to maximize and enhance enjoyment; far better with food than without. Most likely will improve for the next two to three years.

October 4, 2017 - Tried based on previous vintage that seemed a good value. The 2012 is even better! Went back to buy more. When one finds a Chianti Classico this good for this price, one must stock up. Sour cherry and earthy tannins. Nuance of red berry and faint baking spice. Well balanced and very smooth as Sangiovese goes. Medium body and goes down great with herbed pasta and homemade red sauce.

February 12, 2017 - A solid CC with good fruit and wood nose and good complexity on the palate with the tannins suede-like and acidity that contributes to a decent length.
