Possibly it was more engaging a few years ago, possibly it may mature and fill out in 5–10 years time, right now it is correct but unimpressive. Dark purple, no fading to rim yet. Promising blackberry and spice scent, but the entry is quite closed/tannic/unripe?/furry/offputting. I can imagine it doing better paired with something meaty with plenty of fat, but only because it frankly doesn't taste all that great at present. I plan on letting the remaining bottle in my cellar sit there for quite some time to smooth out, integrate and hopefully find itself. 88–92P (this is the biggest range I have given for a wine for as long as I can remember, so actually: NR).

  March 18, 2023 - Clear deep ruby/garnet; clean medium plus nose of barnyard, dust, blackberry jam and slight balsamic; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of dark raspberry; medium plus finish; promising nose gave way to disappointing palate; hope that it’s going through a dumb phase - suggest giving it a few more years to develop
