Community Tasting Notes 11

February 16, 2024 - PnP that showed consistently well over the two hours it was open. Still good freshness here. Knowing/remembering very little about the '13 vintage in the Beaune I was surprised just how well this is holding up given that I thought it was perhaps just so-so (solely a guess on my part). Very fine on its own and still a good partner to food. For my tastes, it's ready now. highly recommended

May 19, 2020 - Better as the minutes go by....
    Pale yellow gold....
Nose is fresh, chalk, stone fruit...
Nice bracing acidity, touch smoke, chalk, stone, Meyer lemon,
Pineapple, minerality,....just exquisite....so much going on....
Albacore tuna over white bean, caper, cucumber, dresssed greens...

March 17, 2020 - An elegant, balanced and a bit restrained wine with a pale colour. A niice fresh mineral backbone balances some faint exotic and some citrus notes. Well made although not as deep as the best vintages of this wine. Probably still some years from peak.

February 23, 2020 - Pale yellow-gold, translucent. Some heft but toward medium-bodied. Nose somewhat closed but with citrus notes. Fine minerality and acidity, taste oriented toward citrus/lemon and perhaps stone/flint, not butter. Refined, classy juice. Distinctly at its best when it reached room temp (in Chicago in February), at which point the wine had great intensity and complexity and I wanted another pour. Excellent with very fresh Lake Superior whitefish and cucumber dill sauce.
