October 26, 2023 - The genius and blessed Burg Al (gilded palate) might have had a dodgy bottle. I also loved other ‘13 chards, but this has a great flabbiness and touches of salted Bretagne beurre. No rush at all. A little gift left over in the glass and they weren’t diamonds. Solid and unctuous. Loved the hint of flint.

October 9, 2023 - Old Guys Monthly Lunch @ Lela in Bloomington MN. Dave's btl. another excellent '13 in the same flight making for a comparison with Leo's Chassagne. Excellent drive & intensity. Bolder & tauter than Leo's Chassagne. Impressive 10yrs out and reminding me 2013 might have been a sleeper vintage in Burgundy. What a great flight!

July 29, 2023 - An extraordinary 85 year old single vineyard Puligny, full of finesse and elegance. Aged in 60% new and the rest in second use oak. Pale golden colour , green hue. Intense and pure aroma of acacia, smoke, pineapple, peach, banana, yellow apple, flinty hint. Medium body, intense and concentrated with elegant and velvety structure, pronounced and persistent fragrant flavours, well integrated medium+ acidity, long rich finish. At a sweet spot right now so drink up or age some 5+ years longer.

July 4, 2023 - Rob comes to London (67 Pall Mall): Been sitting on this bottle for a while, and feel vindicated at holding until now: this was superb. Beautiful, seductive nose, full of whipped cream and yellow fruit, and kept lively by something crisp and green. Exquisite and long on the palate, with lemon confit (I seem to have noted that down three times!) as well as broader apple and sharper lime. Kapow!
