Community Tasting Notes 2

    October 17, 2015 - 40% garnacha, 35% carinena, 15% merlot, 5% syrah and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Decanted
Distinctly Gratallops, Priorat with upfront rocky scents of quartz and black slate along with white pepper, strawberry, cherry, red currants that include floral notes and tea.
The palate is young and tight. Flavors of peppery red cherry skins, strawberry and red currant with flowers and tea are underlined by the rocky minerality of this wine. Medium-plus acidity and moderate tannins show through the moderate finish. Needs Time

July 1, 2015 - Single vineyard in Priorat. 40/35/15/5/5 Garnacha/Carinena/Merlot/Cab Sauv/Syrah. Medium minus nose shows some cedar, black fruit, red flowers. Palate gives black pepper, blackberry jam, molasses, graphite, black plum, interesting blend, medium tannins, medium plus acidity, should make a good food wine, medium finish showing more spice at the end. Nice value.
