November 24, 2023 - Quite a phenomenal wine! Exquisite, incredibly well made.

January 13, 2023 - Remarkable and unique RdD made from Tempranillo which was planted in 1944 and located between 730-915 meters of altitude. Wine was aged for 18 months in new FR oak. Deep garnet red colour. Medium light complex intensity aroma of dried cherries and cranberries, spices, cold cuts, yoghurt hints, dried tomatoes. Full body, complex and deep flavours of dried black fruits, spices and a shy sweet touch along medium range acidity and firm sticky fine tannins ending long and spiced.

September 18, 2022 - At open, it was a bit wound up and needed about two hours of air to come into its own. Once it did, had all the right stuff and was extremely enjoyable.

September 6, 2017 - Prestige tasting 2017 Theis vine - my best ratings (Boersen DK): Just outstanding. No notes taken

October 24, 2016 - This is a single vineyard wine all planted on chalky soil. 52 year old as to this tasting note. Soil is very dry, more finesse and elegance here because of the soil than the Valderramiro - which is more powerful because of the clay. Also 18 months in french oak and frementation in French oak as well.

Bill notes that both wines are textured and integrated and layered. And indeed is softer on the palate than the Valderramiro. And a long finish to boot. Black fruited but not quite as dark.
