October 1, 2018 - Really a very nice wine that needs so air to help it open up. We drank it over two days and found it quite fresh the second day. Lot of dark red fruit and minerality and a pleasing after-taste. Nice spiceness on the tongue that suggests this is a long-lived wine.
August 9, 2018 - Great wine. It is a hedonistic wine. 100% pleasure. Love it. Excellent.
September 9, 2017 - The nose was dark and brooding, with crushed blackberry, savory herbs, dusty soil, and brown spices. On the palate, I found silky enveloping textures with sleek blackberry, plum, spice and inner floral tones. It was feminine and graceful with fine tannin that came in late and saturated the senses. It finished long on tart black fruit and spice.
August 13, 2017 - This is a very serious wine. Dark color, strong nose of ripe blackberries and plumb. Too bad I bought only one bottle.
July 22, 2017 - Dark, brooding, and wonderful. Great nose, really full mouthful of dark red fruits and black fruits with nice South Rhone spiciness. Medium length finish.
June 11, 2017 - tasted at the domaine again. This was a stubborn bottle, with some nasty plastic notes on the nose, which i did not find in the bottle tried at home recently. palate was ok though, but not the experience i had a couple of months ago. I would wait for these for a 3 years.
January 5, 2017 - Damn this wine was great ! Beautiful complexity with noble aromas of pine sap, game, truffles and the fruit was beautiful too! Dark spices and black cherries in moist earth. Smooth structure taking on the sap/wax feeling. reminiscing the aroma ? Anyhow, pleased to support a passionate winemaker I visited, creating something quite unique in the region. Certainly amongst the best southern Rhone wines. Adopts some aspects of the Biodynamic philosophy, uses natural volcanic sulfur. 70% Grenache, and a balance of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cinsault and local varieties Counoise, Vaccarese and Terret Noir. Aged in casks and demi-muids, concrete vats between 25-36 months. Unfined and unfiltered, fleur de liege corks. Aging potential 15-20 years. Chalky clay marl terroir and yield is 10-15 hl/ha. Vines between 30-100 years old in gobelet method. Vines come from selected cuttings through masal selection. The quest for quality here is constant and phenomenal
May 23, 2016 - This wine tastes sinful and I am a sinner... Right in my sweetspot. This is cherry flavor, raspberry and floral mixed with herbal, eucalyptus like stuff, touches of leather brought to the 4th dimension. Quickly bought this at the domaine no time to taste, Jerome's wife Marie thought I would like the 12's better so only bought one of these. I may end up liking their 12's better, but for now it's like choosing between your children.
April 19, 2015 - The nose showed an intense, layered bouquet of ripe black fruit, olives, mineral-laden stone, pepper, licorice and a hint of barnyard. It was saturating, with dark fruits on the palate, showing tremendous energy and concentration, which seemed to touch upon all the senses. Notes of tarry tannin provided grip, while ripe, crushed blackberry and minerals notes lingered long into the finish. This was remarkable concentrated yet fresh and focused.
August 10, 2014 - Tasted at the domaine. this is extremely young, and extremely pretty. My wife loved this (she found it even better than 08-09-10). Will buy a case. best southern rhone eleven tasted (i prefer this over Janasse VV, which is a brilliant wine as well)
