April 12, 2019 - Absolutely delicious. Tasted over two nights (poured off 1/2 four days ago into 375ml screwcapped bottles that were the basis for tonight's assessment) against an '04 Chappellet Signature and an '04 Pahlmeyer Jason Red.
All were scored 92+ and initially were more alike than different, having great aromatics etc. The D2 emerged w/a slightly greater complex dimensionality of black walnut nuances framed against big blackberry/black raspberry & black cherry flavors and spices that caressed your midpalate and echoed for up to a minute. Fully integrated, rich and satisfying without tasting heavy or overblown.

April 21, 2017 - The wine finishes long. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The wine has round texture.

December 26, 2014 - 39th Birthday Dinner wine with Karen. Awesome bottle. Perfect time to open. Needed no decanting but we did anyhow. Unbelievably smooth. Love that wine!!
April 15, 2014 - Rich fruit, but a bit hot for my taste. More time in the bottle not likely to help.
December 13, 2013 - Doing great right now, complex integration, fruit, nice balance.
September 3, 2013 - Very typical D2 fruitiness and complex flavor layers without any sharp elbows. Easy drinking on any random afternoon.
May 25, 2013 - Big wine that seemed more cabernet dominant. Lots of ripe fruits with rich flavors throughout. Impressive finish with lingering red fruit flavors.
