  November 25, 2023 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of ripe black raspberry, currant, mocha, cedar, dried herbs and anise. Blackberry cream liquor, cedar, crushed rock, vanilla and dried herbs on the palate. Very, very long finish with excellent depth. It goes forever. Full bodied. Outstanding wine that has lots of runway. Served with grilled filet mignon and a whiskey cream sauce.

  April 6, 2023 - Primary color. Savory aromas. Silky texture. Creamy cassis, blackberry and spice all back-lit by bright acidity. My mouth was still vibrating a minute after I swallowed - long finish. Firm and with light grip. Super balance. This was electric and hugely memorable. I can't wait to see this in another five years as any flavors added to the profile/complexity would only ramp it up. 97

  December 14, 2022 - Beautiful wine opened today to celebrate a special event that was a long time coming. This was ready to go with minimal air, showing copious rich dark fruit and floral notes on the nose from the moment it hit the glass. The palate continued with both of those elements but added a host of cool mineral and subtle smoky tones that filled the mouth and made for a wonderfully complex whole package. The finish was clean and smooth, with the tannins well integrated at this point. There’s no hurry on this wine, but it’s in a really nice spot now. As usual, nicely done, Mike Smith.
