December 7, 2019 - Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys Auction (Formento's - Chicago IL): Small glass. Earth, meat, black cherry and leather with a tannic finish that is not uncommon from the vintage.

December 7, 2019 - Wines tasted at Zachy's Chicago Watch Party (Formentos): This had been open an hour or two by the time I got to it. Very mature with earth-driven red and black cherry. I didn't pick up a ton of spice or layering. Just okay for what it is.

December 7, 2019 - Zachys auction at Formento's (Chicago, IL): Far better than the house's embarrassing 2002 effort (a wine that has forever coloured my impression of this producer). This shows a little thin and acidic, as expected with the vintage, but on the flip side, there's certainly some nice earthy flavours on the palate. This doesn't have the full on weight and power as you'd expect from such hallowed terroir (cf. 1990 Jadot Beze later today, or even the 1988), but there's enough here to keep this wine interesting.

April 27, 2015 - A beautiful wine full Burgundian from all directions nose, palette, finish. A bit light weight for chambertin. Expected the juice to open up further than it did over course of Dinner. Case purchased at Srouhin auction 2014 wCH berk pork chop new recipe capers quite delicious

February 24, 2007 - Some Champagnes and a few reds (Columbus, OH): Youthful with Chambertin earth and red cherry fruits. Medium bodied and tannic - needs lots of time.
