April 3, 2024 - Method: tasted at the domaine; 2019 base

    Nose: chalky lemon pith

Palate: lemon pith; finish of chalk; medium body; medium+ acidity; medium+ bubbles

Overall thoughts: It's enjoyable since it's competently made Champagne, but otherwise, it's very unremarkable. Good wine.

March 23, 2024 - A blend of 54 percent pinot noir, 26 percent chardonnay and 20 percent meunier, using reserve wine from 2018, 2016, 2015, 2014. 100% fermented in oak barrels. Extra brut (1g/l) and disgorged in 02/2023. It shows voluptuous depth and ripeness but at the same time very clear and vivid in expressing its fruit. It finished with excellent length, inviting you back for more. Loved it!

March 9, 2024 - During a merchant tasting, no detailed notes. The Nicolas Maillart wines showed very reductive and strict, needing some more bottle time.

August 20, 2023 - Family Holidays; 7/28/2023-9/10/2023 (Alicante - España): By the glass. A blend of Pinot Noir (55%), with a Chardonnay almost at par (45%). Supposedly a high percentage of reserve wines which always provides regularity. Ages approximately three years on its lees with a dosage of just 3 grams per liter. Aromas from wood predominate on the nose. Reserve wines apparently accumulate these notes (?). On the palate similar echoes although cooler than expected. Vinous texture, short length and drying finish. Not bad at all.

Textura vinosa, escasa longitud y final secante. No está mal del todo.

August 18, 2023 - Disgorged 4/22; this was a solid NV Champagne; classic style, blend of all three grapes; lemon curd, green apple, some orchard blossom; good freshness; nice as an aperitif

August 4, 2023 - An Extra Brut version (the 2019 version I tried was a Brut). The dryness shows, but not in a bad way. There’s just enough fruit sweetness to carry this, and the Pinot Noir and high percentage of barrel age both add richness and depth. I’d love to try this in a couple years, but it’s very good right now.

May 1, 2023 - Bottle 2/2 from K&L ($30, bin stained label). Light golden almost orange yellow, smells like lightly buttered brioche. A bit oily with strong minerality and light red fruit/spice. Lingering chalky finish. Great QPR, but not very complex.

March 18, 2023 - 67/26/7 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay/Pinot Meunier, 3.5g/l dosage, 70/30 barrel/tank aging. Disgorged 05/2022. Pale golden yellow. Toast on the nose. A little spice and earth on the palate. Medium acid. Really beautiful “vinous” champagne. You can really get a sense of minerality and a bit of the red fruit. Not super complex, but excellent QPR at just under $30 from K&L.
