August 6, 2021 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 3 hours. Very earthy with a perfume that emerges over 30 minutes, tobacco, black cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, vanilla, spices and wood. The palate is full bodied, choke cherry, black cherry, blackberry, tobacco, vanilla, spices and round tannins that exhibit some grip yet. 91+ to 92pts.
July 16, 2021 - a wine I go to often when wanting a Cab Sauv, this from Washington State. Decadent dark berries, rich milk chocolate, black currants, black cherry, touch of cedar.
July 9, 2021 - Really good, still holding up.
June 8, 2021 - Showing better than a year ago and it didn’t take as long to get going. Delicious, trademark CV fruit with some confident oak and gentle tannins. On the leading edge of its apex, imho. 5+12+17+9= 93
March 13, 2021 - Not decanted, but tasted after being open for two hours with about 4 oz. poured out of the bottle and then re-corked. Tasted blind, in GlassVin stems. Initially, the aromas weren't all that pleasing, with a soy sauce note weaving through the dark cherry aromas. Tannins are still present, but fine in feel. Slightly creamy edge to the delicious black cherry flavors with soil-like notes underneath. I guessed Washington and, upon reveal , it was. This is a pretty but understated wine by Washington standards that started to thin out a few hours later. Better with food.
October 2, 2020 - One of my favorite Cabernet Sauvignons, this one from Columbia Valley, Washington State. Dark rich decadent fruit of blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Rich milk chocolate has always grabbed my palate ftom this wine. Finally some savory herbs of sage and clove.
August 17, 2020 - really improve after a couple of years.
July 29, 2020 - A very dark ruby pitch, saturated almost fully to the rim and a good amount of chunky sediment. Profound aroma of blackberries, lavender, pipe tobacco, vanilla meringue, and complex perfumes. The palate seems to be just entering maturity, as the tannins still grab a bit more attention than where the balance will eventually land (in my humble prognostication). This should offer several more years of pleasure.
Notes after following for two days open and I thought the final glass was the best. 4+13+17+9= 93
May 17, 2020 - Delicious. Nicely balanced.
May 5, 2020 - Delightful expression of Columbia Valley fruit. Black cherry, light herbal notes, balanced acidity and a lingering, most enjoyable finish. Superb effort now drinking at its prime.
