October 29, 2017 - Great picnic wine, nice berry nose, lovely color, nice balance, with good acidity, spicy spice undertones, delicious, food friendly, and good table wine for the cellar. It can never disappoint.

January 17, 2016 - A quality, value crowd-pleasing California-Italian styled Chianti. Big and extracted. If you want to actually taste the cherry/acidity of Sangiovese then this is not your wine

October 11, 2015 - Not bad. Less jammy than many chianti's. You wouldn't say it has great finesse, but there is certainly some acidity to keep things lovely enough. Perfectly fine with some simple grub

October 3, 2015 - Trying this again about 6 months later, this time my initial impression was very tight, more secondary, non fruit than fruit flavors, and a very dry finish. I think this wine has gone into it's "dumb stage" since the last time we tasted it. The exquisite balance of fruit and other flavors was not so evident this time. Probably would benefit from a decant, or the vinturi. The weight and mouth feel is pretty heavy for a Chianti. Almost textbook color. There is just something metallic, stony, and grainy interfering with the fruit.

June 20, 2015 - A lot of umami. Great with pesto--adds meat flavors
