December 24, 2019 - die erste von 4.. Hat noch Zeit. Typische Barolonoten, mittlere Länge.
October 26, 2019 - Typical Nebbiolo on the nose; on the palate still quite harsh tannins, juicy dark cherries, raspberries, roses. A tasty yet not very complex wine that is highly drinkable now.
December 31, 2018 - Ruby red color. On the nose roses, leather and violets. On the palate medium bodied with medium to high acidity. The tannins are smooth and largely integrated. The finish is long and spicy. I decanted the wine for two hours, and drank it over the next three hours during which it nicely evolved while at the end the acidity becoming more dominant (just as a previous note expressed). This is drinking very well now, but will be fine for the next years as well. Decent Barolo!
August 2, 2018 - Nydelig tilgjengelig Barolo. Trenger litt luft 1/2 time i karaffel. Flott frukt, fyldig smak. Lukt: litt lite. Grei ettersmak
July 21, 2017 - 1.5 hour decant. Liquorice, leather, violet, tea leaves, earth, dried cherry, cranberry, mushroom, pine and rubber. Acidity was slow rolling and became dominant by the last glass. Definitely built to last. Another beautiful 2010.
January 28, 2017 - December '16 - January '17 Events: A theme for the night was freshness since I pulled a couple of “too young” wines - but I had tasted them before and thought they were ready (or at least showed what a young version can do). This Barolo delivered a fresh and pure nose of rose petal and orange peel. Medium bodied with fine tannins and a delicious finish showcasing tarry cherry with hints of citrus. Also a good bargain like the amarone.
May 1, 2016 - The first "Barologirl" I have tasted. I have to admit I had higher hopes - really wanted it to be great. Not bad, but not exceptional.
March 29, 2016 - Between modern/traditional style, ruby colour with cherries, strawberries and leather aromas. Really nice drinking wine, on the femin side. Good with cheese and ham.
March 19, 2016 - Visited the Vineyard in October 2015 and will never, ever return. Don't be fooled by the beautiful vistas, Giovanni Negri, the owner, is unfriendly, arrogant and condescending.
There are hundreds of other producers, who welcome you into their homes and honorably sell you their wine for listed prices. Giovanni, thought since we were from America, that none of us spoke Italian, and when he asked his assistant what was the price of another vintage, his response to us was 20 euros more. When we questioned him, he said that was his price.
