August 27, 2018 - Golden, fleshier and overtly riper than the last, more understated bottle about six months ago. Very Californian IOW, where the other was pretty Burgundian. However, the addition of an ice cube to both take it down a notch in temp and dilute the ripeness firmed it up beautifully.
July 3, 2018 - Everything Neecies said. Pop and pour. This is an absolutely fantastic Cali Chard. Nose reminded me a bit of PYCM style. Complex with a touch of popcorn, suggestion of minerality, spice, pickled ginger, lemon peel...wow. On the palate, great acidity, and amazing minerality. Loads of citrus and minerals, and serious body, but nevertheless light on its feet. My wife guessed white burgundy blind and was shocked when I told her Cali. This definitely pays homage to burgundy, but I feel like it has a Cali exuberance to it. Amazingly good.
April 3, 2018 - Dinner wasn't quite ready so I just poured a tiny bit into a glass to test it, and almost cried. I smelled and tasted the kind of flinty secondary development I really only find in white Burgundies. With air it developed roasted hazelnuts, spice, ginger flowers and even a little white truffle. Going big on the points--this is one of the most complex California chards I've ever had.
April 30, 2017 - Nice tropical and orchard fruits framed with nice acidity and lively delivery. Good mouth feel and seems to be hitting its stride in terms of being more integrated. I did not get the presence of the oak as much because certainly the fruit is on the forefront of this offering. Being a big Golden Slope fan I don't pay enough attention to this LF offering. Definitely stood out on this occasion.
February 26, 2017 - Popped and poured. Served with sautéed shrimp. Nose of lemon curd, green apple, fig, and toffee. On the palate lush with meyer lemon, apple, fig, and a buttery sensation from malo and oak. Pretty good finish. Great match with the shrimp. Needs a little more time to completely integrate the oak but the raw ingredients are there.
January 30, 2017 - This was nice, but not quite as exciting as other Liquid Farm bottlings I've had. The nose and the palate is full of tropical fruits - kiwi and pineapple come to mind. But I was hoping for a little bit more acid zing and minerality. Regarding the oak noted by other tasters. The oak is there, but it doesn't quite translate to a butteriness like a Rombauer. So in that regard, I agree that this wine might not have a clear target audience. I don't think a Rombauer drinker would be satisfied with this wine.
September 15, 2016 - Lots of minerality, lemon and pear notes with moderate oak and nice mouthfeel.
September 7, 2016 - Not my cup of tea. Big butterscotchy fruit and oak. Some acid saves the day, but this wine does not hit my palate.
August 28, 2016 - Meyer lemon spice hints of oak creamy but clean mouth-feel. This bottle really hit the spot tonight.
July 9, 2016 - Nice nose of lemon curd and apple with a hint of spicy oak peeking through. On the palate, meyer lemon, toffee, apple, hints of fig, hints of buttery oak. Crisp long finish. Really good stuff.
