    March 4, 2024 - Nose: nuts, grassy, wet earth, hints of mint
    Notes: Drank vertically with CSJ 04,06,08,13 and CdR 06,08,11. Opened for 7 hours before consuming. This is certainly a bit too grassy for my liking. I cannot find much fruits or flowers here and instead quite some wet and earthy notes are captured. This may have some potential in the future but right now it's just impossible to open up.

    February 23, 2024 - Slow-oxed for 4 hour before serving. It exhibited this candied sweet red fruit sensation with Asian spice, fresh flowers and vanilla-like sweetness. The palate showed excellent transperency with ethereal mouthfeel. Not a stellar vintage for Rousseau but I liked its finesse and purity. Outshined the more muscular 13 Ruchottes Chambertin on the side. 94+

    Intens og forførende parfyme. Så kompleks, fintunet og elegant. Roser og fioler. Blir helt knisete av å lukte på.

    Følger opp i munn. Så elegant. Perfekt konsentrert frukt, men er lett som en fjær. Syrlig, slank og fokusert. Har en delikat struktur og fasthet som er null tørrende.

    Sitter lenge og er bare definisjonen av elegant og balansert vinmaking.

    For en vin! WOTN for min del.

    July 23, 2023 - Popped and poured. Delicious upon opening, but really showed itself after about 30 minutes, which was about how long I was able to keep the hordes from devouring it.

    Beautiful aromatics, floral, spice, and ripe red fruit. Palate still extremely youthful, with some astringency, but explosive nonetheless. Excellent length, complexity, and structure, with the wild and feral quality that only comes with wines as transcendent as this one.

    A fantastic experience, and clear WOTN in my opinion, with no close competitor. 96 / 100.

    July 22, 2023 - Fuees Dinner (DJCV as host) (Brooklyn, NY): Interloper in our Fuees themed evening; in this instance the CSJ, as one might expect, reigned supreme. As they say of Gevrey wines "Le vin des rois, le roi des vins." This was certainly true in our case.

    The 2013 is at a perfect place in its evolution. Hedonistic is not a good way to describe this wine, but it is an extremely giving wine so well executed in terms of balance and freshness that it is hard to stay away from the glass. Rousseau is so true to terroir, and creates wines of such vivacity and freshness. What a treat - nearly perfect wine.

    January 29, 2023 - 刚开瓶散发着树莓、蔷薇果、山楂、覆盆子之类的红果,带着些许成熟黑樱桃的香气,刚开始就颇为开放,带着新鲜的玫瑰花、玫瑰花酱以及新鲜迷迭香的气味,散发着轻微的清凉感,中后段出现些许阿胶和泥土味,矿物感修饰着颇为工整的轮廓,具有不错的对称美。口感渗透着矿物盐质地的微咸,集中度不算太高,但有质感,骨架感很突出,一下子把口腔都撑了起来,单宁较多,还比较干涩。各种树莓、红醋栗之类的红果,带着新鲜的以及略干的玫瑰花挂在骨架上,似乎还没完全整合清楚,有点耷拉着的感觉。

    好在随着醒酒,香气变化得更为活跃丰富,出现了多汁的草莓和野莓香气,细腻通透。喝起来单宁也铺展开来,变得细腻,整体的花果香同骨架感也整合在一起,虽然稍微有些薄,但是平静优雅,如同一面湖水一般,矿物感、新鲜香草和些许肉感点缀在周遭,有一种结构的内在美和充满筋骨感的力。93-94/100

    October 11, 2022 - Color still looks very young. Clean and elegant nose, mostly flower notes. Still some tannins around but already approachable. Good mouthfeel, definitely denser than ‘95 Ruchottes next to it. Good length and complexity, oaks yet to be fully integrated but not obtrusive. Excellent showing today. As usual, Rousseau excels in lean vintages.

    June 21, 2022 - Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Small glass. Richness I find hard to understand coming from this vintage, with so many layers here, even with just good enough weight. A perfectly balanced wine that took 2013's limitations and made the most of it.
