May 12, 2023 - Oakville AVA Tasting in London: Molten rock nose. Red fruited palate. More volcano on the palate and nose, hint of red dirt. Sherry-like? 91-92

August 21, 2022 - I decanted this bottle and tasted but poured it back in the bottle. Initially, I wasn’t impressed. I decanted a different bottle of wine to serve our dinner guests. After finishing that bottle, I came back to the Hoops. This time the wine was expressive, balanced and enjoyable. Balanced acidity and tannins with layers of ripe figs, dried cranberries, peppercorns and licorice. It had a nice mouthfeel and pleasant finish. This wine needs time to open up and shine. I’m glad we have more bottles in the cellar.

April 18, 2021 - from a magnum, very nice cab, smooth, balanced, everybody enjoyed it. I would have rated it higher but we had a Tor cab later that just blew this out of the water, no comparison.

April 10, 2021 - This wine is very fruit forward with a medium body. As this wine breathes, it becomes richer and the bouquet really develops.
