August 20, 2023 - I pretty much agree with AboveAvgBro's tasting note immediately below. This was very nice. Upon opening, I was worried the wine might be past its prime due to substantial bricking, but it was still drinking great. Decanted to remove sediment just before drinking, it got better in the glass, so if you're going to open one in the next year I might suggest a half hour in the decanter before drinking. Don't think I'd wait much past a year for this one though.

April 5, 2023 - Terrific merlot. At 10 years young, this still has plenty of life left to it.

Color: burgundy red with bricking at the rim

Nose: beautiful red & dark fruit medley

Palate: this is spring mountain in a glass. Not very easy to tell it’s a merlot either. Aged Black & red fruit, brambly even like good mountain fruit should be. Very terroir driven, as it screams spring mountain. Tannins have smoothed out considerably, but it still finishes with a good tannic finish.

In short - Pride never disappoints. They can age for decades, and they’re always full of Spring Mountain complexity. This merlot is a great example of that.

December 31, 2022 - New Year's Eve dinner. Opened after we finished the wines I originally thought would be enough for the evening. I really liked it. Medium long finish, soft tannins without tasting flabby.
