January 13, 2023 - Big and bold, true to form. Density and lots of fruit showing.

January 31, 2020 - Sadly past it’s prime - still got fruit, but not much acidity and no tannins left to pull it into shape, so it mostly comes across as sweet and tired - a fighter who needs to retire. Wish I’d have drunk it a couple of years ago - in its prime, I’m sure it was lively.

August 3, 2019 - No formal notes. Popped this last night and this blew my socks off. I decanted this and tried a taste on the pnp. Was ruby in color and medium bodied. Not bad but nothing world shattering. At an hour this really started to sing and at 2 hours there was incredible layering that I did not expect and frankly have never had in a bottle of Jayson before. Unfortunately this was my last bottle of 2012. Most of my 2012 wines drank amazing early but have not held up well over time. This bottle was definitely an exception. I drank my last 2009 Pahlmeyer last year and it was by far the best bottle of Pahlmeyer I had drank with 9 years on the bottle. The Jayson is made to drink much earlier but this was so good I may hold these longer now. Jayson which is the second label of Pahlmeyer has always been one of my favorite $40 to $50 bottles but this one was significantly better than any other Jayson I have drank.

November 7, 2018 - Solid rich red color, medium aroma. Round fruit and soft tannins, very sweet. No acidity, very one dimensional wine. Short finish. Fading fast after one hour of air, prunish.. For the price, somewhat disappointing.
