November 18, 2018 - This wine performs just as you would expect for a modest Brunello. Initial funk and brett that blows off leading to aromas of blackberry, violets, matchstick, forest floor, tar. The tannins are still firm and the acidity is pronounced but the fruit hangs in well and I think this could bloom a little more with age. Slightly edgy still but plenty of complex character and a good foil to rich pasta dishes. I plan to drink my last bottle in about ten years.

January 1, 2010 - imo, we drank this one too soon ... still very tannic ... an old school style of brunello ... nice aromatics after a decant ... extreme sour cherries on the palate ... the finish lingers seemingly forever .... a very good bottle but no wow factor ... 89 for now but has the stuffings to last and blossom.

July 26, 2009 - already brick past the edges; decanted to remove sediment then drunk; medium body; started out with smooth muted dry cherry and sandalwood; over about 1 hr this perked up with brighter focused black cherry and black raspberry, adequate acidity and soft tannins; might be mistaken for an older chianti riserva, but nice old style typicity, and a treat.

February 3, 2009 - closed and primary to start; opened up over an hour with typical cherry and rhubarb, earth and a bit of funk, good acidity; slightly peppery tannins appear and are prominent as it opens; medium bodied but good texture on the roof of the mouth; a lot of stuffing and can easily improve with time; cost $29 and i wasnt expecting this to be this good; nice example of the grape

January 18, 2009 - A whiff of wood at first, and pure red fruit, but that is quickly abolished by dominant bandaid, metal and smoke. What could otherwise be a quite nice bottle of (seemingly) more traditional Brunello ends up being basically ruined by a quite high level of Brett. Bummer.

May 4, 2008 - Consumed over 2 days. On day two, tannins still drying as they appear 2/3 of the way through. The wine does have the fruit to outlast these tannins. Still quite enjoyable, but I'm holding out atleast 3-5 years before pulling another cork here.
