50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 17 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 93/100

Color: Deep ruby red, but noticeably less 'opaque' than four years ago. A beginning of an orange-brown edge. Aroma / bouquet: Limited expressiveness. I can hardly imagine that anyone who has not tasted this wine in earlier stages of its development will recognize the minimal trace of ethyl acetate in this wine. Furthermore, impressions of cherry compote, blackberries and dark chocolate, with which the association with Mon Cherie cherry bonbons is complete again. Taste / Finish: Mouth-filling and buttery soft. Very limited acidity. Packed with velvety soft tannins. And now much more balanced than in the past. The moderate acidity balances well with the soft tannins, while the alcoholic strength is less noticeable due to the incredible concentration of this wine. General / potential: I drank this wine in several stages. In 2013, the ethyl acetate content could only be handled with tricks, in 2015 the wine required seriously long aeration and in 2017 the phenomenon was hardly disturbing anymore. This wine is getting better and more beautiful and has at least another 10 years to go. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Taste / Finish: 17 + Overall / potential: 9 = 93/100

December 18, 2020 - Hazy, deep vibrant color. Intense, perfumed nose, a bouquet of fresh cherries, fig, cocoa. Ethereal aromatics, bright, heady, enchanting. Palate was silky with layered flavors of bright cherries, dark chocolate, fig. Delicious wine. Perfectly aged.

September 2, 2017 - Kleur: Diep ondoordringbaar donker rood Aroma / bouquet: De geur van nagellak (Ethyl acetaat) is vrijwel verdwenen. Donker kersenfruit, bramen, donkere chocola: Mon Chery bonbons! Smaak / Afdronk: Mondvullend. Gematigde zuurgraad. Boordevol boterzachte tannines. Royaal alcoholisch. Retronasale indruk van Mon Chery-bonbons. Zoete zachte drop. Algemeen / potentieel: Super krachtige wijn. Na 11 jaar nog steeds boordevol primair fruit. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 10 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 89/100

    Google Translate:

Color: Deep impermeable dark red Aroma / bouquet: The smell of nail varnish (Ethyl acetate) has almost disappeared. Dark cherry fruit, blackberries, dark chocolate: Mon Chery chocolates! Taste / Drink: Mouth-filling. Moderate acidity. Stuffed with buttery tannins. Royally alcoholic. Retronasal Impression of Mon Chery Chocolates. Sweet soft liquorice. General / Potential: Super powerful wine. After 11 years still full of primary fruit. 50+ Color: 5+ Aroma / Bouquet: 10 + Taste / Drink: 16 + General / Potential: 8 = 89/100

March 9, 2017 - Loads of dark berries but not a fruit bomb as it tastes well balanced with just enough acid to keep things tasting fresh. Seems like it's around maturity with no tannins to speak of and a few secondary and tertiary flavors coming through to keep it interesting. Too bad it's my only bottle.
